Other than the vocals, I really like the album Colors. Haven't bothered to listen to any other albums because all the single songs I've heard have been awful.

Still listening to Snakes For The Divine...I really like how this sounds now that I'm not hearing a crappy mp3 stream of it. The production isn't that different, and all the whiners complaining that Matt Pike's vocals have been mixed funny can shut up because his trademark growl is in full effect. I do like the bass being slightly elevated above the guitar most of the time, as it gives the music a great dynamic and really bolsters that "High on Fire" sound.

I thought that Snakes for the Divine moved a bit away from the previous High on Fire sound, but not in a bad way. Just the band naturally progressing.

Oh, for sure. It feels very similar to how Mastodon grabbed a "real" (read: not exclusively metal) producer who helped the band greatly expand their boundaries. This is definitely High on Fire's most polished record, but it still sounds filthy as fuck (which is fantastic).

I can't wait to listen to the whole thing and truly digest the whole sound.

Oh lord, Frosthammer is on. Seeing this live was such an incredible preview to the album's release.
