Well, it's night #1 in Charlottetown for this guy. Signing my offer of employment with the new job tomorrow, even though it's the same company I worked for back in NS last year. Different role, but I'm just glad to finally be back to work! Life in PEI is great so far, but the lass had to head back to the mainland today for work over the next few days. She has a pre screening and interview next week over here so as long as that goes well (no reason why it shouldn't) she'll have maybe 6 shifts remaining in NS and then getting started with Island EMS.

Flipside of the coin; being over here alone really, REALLY sucks balls. Added, some of her family aren't very supportive of OUR decision to make this change in OUR life, which is adding just a bit of stress to the situation. They're not willing to help us move because of, "Obvious reasons" (WTF ever that means) but that's cool; we love it here, there are no bears in PEI, the people are awesome, there are no bears, everything we enjoy doing is here, awesome food, loads of beach options to pick from and there aren't any bears! We’ll make this happen because this is what we want. It’s going to suck big time at the start, but we want this bad enough and we’re too damn stubborn to quit.

/rant.

So yeah, how's everyone else doin? :P

Sorry to hear about your loss. Losing a pet always hit home real hard with me. If you wanna share stories about the pup go right ahead. That always made me feel better for some reason

Mike I am really sorry to hear of your loss.

Pets become family members and losing one hurts as much as that. I lost my little Quinn over there on the left last summer. He was my first cat and his death probably affected me more from a depression standpoint than the deaths of any of my four grandparents for example (though I loved them all quite a bit), even though that sounds horrible to say. But he was a more constant and close companion than any living thing outside of my immediate family, and losing that is a shock. It fucking hurts. But it will get better over time. Hopefully Kasey lived a long and happy life like my Quinn did. Eventually you'll start having more happy memories about Kasey remembering the good times more than the pain. But I feel for you.

kasey dog was a great dog. im very glad i left work early to be there with her. she could hardly walk, so i carried her (she was a brute. 65 pounds of dead weight) around the house to look at everything one last time. she just put her head on my shoulder and closed her eyes. she was ready.

i am having her cremated so i can bury her in the yard, where ill plant a tree next to her. the tree will planted next to where an old tree stood that we attached her leash to (she needed to be on a leash outside. she loved to wander. neighbors were not keen on that) it fell over in a storm last year. itll be kaseys tree.

not to worry or whine, but im really having a hard time with this. ive cried every day since friday, and obviously alot on friday.

thank you for the kind words, everyone. i will share stories soon.

Ah geez, Mike. Kasey dog looks like one of the kindest pups in the land. So sorry for your loss, man. :(

The president of my homebrew club (of which I'm a founding member and on the board of governors) just got hired as an assistant brewer at Stone.
That instantly makes me a better brewer...or something.

/Stoked though, he's a great brewer and nice guy

Maybe they just haven't shipped well or something, but for the reputation Stone seems to have i've been pretty disappointed in the two beers of theres i've gotten a hold of.

But regardless, they are held in very high esteem, i'd say your skill by association has definitely gotten a bump.

It's a long way from San Diego to the East coast and there's lots of opportunities for beer to be abused along the way. *shrug*
I'm not really a fan of their Arrogant Bastard flagship, but that gripe is stylistic. However I really like Ruination and Levitation. Try those if you can find them.

After two months of not shaving, I finally took off the playoff beard. It wasn't very pretty anyways. I was gonna leave just the chin, but I don't pull off the chin scruff only.

Someone I went to high school with on Facebook, in response to the Zimmerman verdict:

"APPEAL IT TO THE FEDERAL COURT"

Scary part? She's a law student.

Today marks the first day in about a 3 week span that I don't need to have the AC on in our apartment. It's been going non-stop. 2nd floor of a 3 level building better trap heat in here like this during the winter months. At this rate, our power bill is looking to be lower this fall & winter than it is for the summer.

heh...my AC is basically on non-stop for 4-5 months out of the year and my place is new construction with insulation and double paned reflective windows.
God damned desert out here.
