the fact that semin couldnt get clutch ice time minutes is alarming that he plays with little passion and little regard for anything besides playing in the opponents end.

the risk isnt worth the reward.

Sometimes coaches just bench players. Obviously Washingtons former coach didn't like semin much just like lindy never liked Afinogenov. I think it's more of a money issue than anything. Russian players usually never take less even if they played with a good team. By dumping semin and now wideman I believe they'll send a couple of nice offers out to Parise, Suter and maybe even Schultz.

Schultz has a short list of Edm, Van, Ott, Tor, and NYR.

Semin has not yet proven himself as a two-way forward, until then he reputation will keep R&R from considering him...not to mention the salary he'll be expecting.
