Has anyone else caught the interviews with former President Bush and Matt Lauer?
If so, I was curious as to others thoughts on his answers for the questions Matt raised with him, specifically,
Do you believe he is just selling a line or is he sincere that he believed that what he did as President were the right decisions at the time?
Also, thoughts on how much of an influence/role Dick Cheney, Paul Wolfawitz and Donald Rumsfeld played in foriegn policy, were these architects of the mideast policy actually the deciders and direct President Bush on what to do, or did President Bush truly believe in the policies that he signed off on?

Thoughts?

I think he sincerely believes it. I think at the the time he was going off of the information presented to him and coupled with the prodding from those like Cheney etc he pulled the trigger on the war in full confidence. As to the other shit like declaring victory or making the "bring it on" statement etc, who knows. Just glad he's not the Chief still.

I don't think he's selling a line because I don't think he's wrapped up in defending his legacy.
He seems like a guy who's very much at peace with himself and his decisions so I assume he was sincere then and now.

I'd have to read the book though...not just listen to an interview about it.
