To take a position as "special assistant". Sounds weird to me. I don't follow the Bills that closely. What do you all make of this? Unless that special assistant position is with the Jills, that sounds kinda like a firing.

He's been talked about as stepping down for a while. The guy is pretty old. Doug Whaley's probably taking over. If he isn't, then I'll start to speculate that maybe something's going on we don't know about, but this seems pretty standard when handing over the reigns.

I would imagine he is just kind of hanging around for a while, to ease the transition. It gives Whaley a chance to settle in but still ask a few questions. :)
