Just a hunch, but I think we'll see Jeff Cowan moving on up. He's pumped in 5 goals and 26 PIM down in Portland already, and has the bruising toughness to spark some life into the lineup.

I like the look of this:

Vanek-Connolly-Stafford
MacArthur-Roy-Pominville
Cowan-Kennedy-Grier
Ellis-Goose-Kaleta

Ya know something ETC, I watched Connolly center for Vanek in the pre-season, it didn't seem to be a bad fit, I wondered why they put Roy back up there. But I don't think Vanek, Roy, Connolly or McArthur are the problems on line 1 + 2. Just my opinion, but as I watched each game it seemed to me on rushes and once in the zone it was both the goddam RWer's on those lines that were'nt positioning themselves or just stopped skating.
I hate to point out Pommers and Stafford, I like em both, hell I expected alot more out of Pommers. Since Briere left its been all down hill for him. But thats my point, and some one else pointed it out, Timbo Slice, there is real trouble in RWer land on this team as far as line 1 + 2 go.
Who to bring in, thats what I would be asking.

I'd like that, too. But do you really think they'll sit Hecht?

Slesh, I think Roy and Vanek are bad influences on one another. Roy is a pouter when things don't go his way, and it runs off on Vanek and Stafford. Connolly has much more fire than Roy, and I think that spunk is what the two of them need to keep from developing slothfulness.

MacArthur and Pominville compliment Roy because they are more blue collar types who like to shoot and dig, which forces Roy to play a little less fancy.

I think Stafford is really on the hot seat right now. If he doesn't start scoring and showing some life soon he'll be playing with Gaustad and Kaleta again on the 4th line like he was at the start of the season.

I haven't followed our draft picks at all, but isn't there a dude named something like Kassian in the pipe who is supposed to be a big bruising type center - for once I'm asking and not being sarcastic, but if they can go cheap, I'd bet on it - otherwise I would expect a trade of some sort.

I'm still of the mindset that we ain't going no where with our #1 and #2 centers being soft as mink fur!

Kassian is a big, bruising, Lucic-type RW

We can always bring up Gerbe, he could hide in Myers sock and pop out at the last second skate in and score while the opposing team is staring at the debacle. :)

Blah, not impressive, so there really is no one to throw in to the mix but Cowan. Hell, I'd like to see the shadow (formerly know as Darcy Reiger) do anything at this point to shake these guys up.

The Pirates look pretty terrible this season. Not anyone I would want to call up, if I were GM :(
