I would be stunned if Golisano paid the freight to demote Hecht.

I'd LOVE to see it. But, I'm not expecting it to happen as Golisano obviously puts making $$$$ ahead of winning.

He threw that out the window, back-pedalled and gave Hecht, Tallinder (and, as I recall) Max, more playing-time than they deserved (heck, he shoulda benched a couple of them, they were playing so badly...)

Well, new season - And the pressure is most definitely on: Money talks, bullshit walks.

Darcy could still structure a trade with a team like Atlanta, Nashville or LA - Veteran players for (low) picks...It's not like these teams are tight in the cap department...and they could afford some "middle of the road" filler.

Might even do a player like Hecht or Tallinder a world of good to find new scenery. The message just doesn't seem to be getting through to them.

Unless Jochen was given a letter to possibly light a fire under his ass. Or there was a serious shortage of leadership on the team last season and he got an "A" by default.

Of course we can call Jochen the fall guy, but we're stuck with him for 3 more seasons. My only hope is for Jochen to go on a productive streak so he can be used as trade bait...but I highly doubt anyone will take him anyway.

well i would say the only way he becomes tradable is if he actually shows he is worth something before the deadline shows up. then hopefully darcy or if darcy is gone the GM realizes hecht is streaky and past his prime and sends him away for whatever can be gained. Or what would make me happy is they just send him to portland and hope someone claims him freeing up cap space and a roster spot. i mean bill belichik sent vraebel with cassel to get the cap space. i mean in the self imposed cap, i'd think cap space would be more valuable. As well unlike drury and briere, would anyone miss hecht.

With Hecht having a 3.5M per cap hit, and the extreme probability of the cap going down next year, I'd say that he is almost untradable.

yeah, i dont see hecht being unloaded unless a prospect is packaged with him.
