I remember the huge boner Sabres Nation had for Hecht in 07/08 when he had 22 goals and played on the opposite wing of Pommer (who also had like an 80 point season).

Way to get it back up for us, Hecht ;)

So will someone please explain to me why Hecht is suddenly doing so much better? Seriously, I'd like to hear your opinions.

Living out-of-state can be such a bother some times.

Its not like he's "doing better" this year. Its not like he all of a sudden is this awesome player somehow. I think last season was just an off year for him because his 3 previous seasons before that he played just as well as he is playing now.

He just had a bad season last year... That was the anomaly in his decade-long career, not this season or 07/08 or any other year. :P

I said he'd get it back. Hahaha.

Vanek is having his bad season this year, Hecht just rebounded to what he did his previous years.

The biggest thing with Hecht is he isn't playing center, he is a natural winger, that can fill the void in center for a few games but not in 82 of them.

The system has morphed itself to accommodate Jochen's style. When it(the system) changes again, he will be less effective. He's a good hockey player. 2-3 million/year, imo.
