Does anyone know more about Tyler Myers biography than what is available on wiki?
I know he was born in Houston and moved to Calgary at 10, and that he has dual citizenship and plays for Canada in international tourneys. Was there a Canadian connection before he moved to Calgary? Was he already playing hockey in Houston before moving to Calgary? Did he go to hockey school in Canada before leaving Houston?
Not too many kids who live in Houston at age 10 end up winning gold for Canada (world juniors 2009) 9 years later. I'm just trying to fill in some blanks. Thanks!

What I know:
His father and mother divorced long before the move to Canada, so he still visits his maternal family in the Houston area when he can.
Before the move (around age of 6), Tyler and his father went to some Houston Aeros games which sparked his interest.
Tyler played some roller hockey in Houston after discovering hockey, I believe.
His father moved himself, Tyler's stepmother, and Tyler to Canada because he's in the oil business and that's where the business lead him (around age of 10).
After elementary school, he attended a prestigious hockey prep secondary school (Notre Dame).
He was selected by Kelowna during the WHL bantam draft while attending Notre Dame (first round, 19th overall).

And the rest, as they say, is history.

Thanks, Phil. I guess that means he was a true blue American until getting up to Canada. That makes him a traitor! (totally kidding)
I was pretty sure the Wilcox, Saskatchewan stint had to be Notre Dame. There's nothing else in or anywhere near Wilcox. My cousin went there for high school.

He once killed a bear with his bare hands.

Agreed. It'd be much cooler with the classics.

To see him wear the national jersey of Canada would be amazing. I hope he can become a member of the Triple Gold Club - he's 1/3 of the way there, already!

Yes sir! It will never happen though because the Sabres will always make the playoffs... :D
